Responsibility
- Overall commander of the vessel and highly skilled decision maker
- 24/7 responsible of the safety of the vessel and her crew
- Ensure 24/7 compliance with all the IMO conventions, classification societies, flag states and shore state rules and regulations.
- Responsible of keeping the vessel at seaworthy condition and liaising with the shore management accordingly
- Report any malfunction, deficiencies or breakdown to company to Port Captain, DPA and to the marine services department manager as necessary.
- Prepare accidents/ incidents investigation, propose corrective actions and present finding to the shore management.
- Give directions to the senior officers and engineer to maintain a zero-loss time and delays
- Lead any emergency response team whenever considered necessary and keep the company management informed.
- Carry out the crew performance appraisals and share it with the company management
- Generalize the team spirit, safety and the best seamanship practices among all the crew
- To set guidelines, procedures and work regulations and to implement and monitor systems
Must Have
- A Certificate of Competency management level from an IMO recognized center and as applicable to the type of vessel and her GT
- STCW mandatory safety courses
- GMDSS, ISM, ISPS and HSE courses
- Perfect speaking and written English language
- Ability to lead a big team and skillful in problem solving and troubleshooting
Nice to have
- Saudi citizen has the priority
- Skillful in using computer applications such as word, excel and power point
- OSHA course
- Arabic Language
